Charleston Sound to unveil compilation

Local recording studio leaps into action in Aug.

Local recording studio Charleston Sound has been busy recording and compiling all year, and they're ready to release an impressive 11-song collection titled Charleston Sound Presents: I Got Music. Owner and main recording engineer Jeff Hodges conducted the tracking sessions at the top-of-the-line facility in north Mt. Pleasant.

An album release event set for Sun. Aug. 30 at the Windjammer features live sets from Ryan Bailey, Mac Leaphart, Part-Time Heroes, Skye Paige & the Original Recipe, The Plainfield Project — all of whom recorded a song with Hodges and the studio staff over the spring and summer.

Charleston Sound was also featured on the cover of the July issue of nationally-distributed Mix magazine. "Since settling into his new digs, Hodges — who also owns a record label, 10t Records — has reached out to the local music community by sponsoring a CD comprising local rock, pop, and blues artists," wrote Barbara Schultz.

Additional bands on the comp include the Graham Whorley Band, Part-Time Heroes, Firework Show, Milhouse, Gaslight Street, Jamie Resch & The Kentucky Shoes. Presented in part by 105.5 The Bridge, the live music starts at 6 p.m. See for more.
