Panel discusses the history of Charleston as a city dedicated to religious freedoms but dependent on racial slavery. Panelists include Joseph McGill (National Trust for Historic Preservation), who will be continuing the work of his Slave Dwelling Project by spending the night in 16 1/2 Glebe Street on the College campus, Professor Joe Kelly (CofC English Department; author of America's Longest Siege: Charleston, Slavery, and the Slow March toward Civil War), and Mark Berry (CofC Communication and Marketing Division, author of article on CofC alum Colonel John C. Fremont).
