When: Fri., Dec. 3, 5-8 p.m. 2010
Phone: (843) 209-2377

At any given Art Walk, you’ll likely see charming Lowcountry scenes: the river at sunset, Rainbow Row, and the like. And at this week’s, you’ll see the same kind of places, only this time wrecked and ravaged by floods, fires, and other awful occurrences.

The courtyard at the Blind Tiger will be decorated with works by Phillip Hyman, Chuck Keppler, Christina Rodino, Jeremy McClelland, Sage Graham, and Erin Eckman in the Charleston Disaster Art Show, organized by Justin Cammer.

“I always like showing work from local artists, and trying to use themes that are a little outside of the norm,” Cammer says. “With the long history of catastrophic events throughout Charleston history, I thought it would be nice to represent the resiliency of this community since its founding.”

Each artist will give their interpretations of Charleston’s least greatest moments, from major wars to major hurricanes.  —Susan Cohen
