Charleston Comedy Festival

When: Jan. 15-18 2014
Price: Prices vary
For a long time, we didn’t believe S.A.D — seasonal affective disorder — was real. But then we lived in a place that didn’t have the glorious weather that Charleston does, and, well, we got S.A.D. And last week’s cold front almost brought us back to that dark brink of despair, but then we remembered that the Charleston Comedy Festival was just around the corner. Some laughs — and warmer weather — totally got us out of our funk. We’ve been holding on all week to get some hahas on with the likes of Moshe Kasher (from Chelsea Lately, Conan, and Shameless) and the Reformed Whores (girls singing songs about poop? Yes, please). There’ll also be great local acts like Dusty Slay, Doppelgänger, and most of the Theatre 99 crew. Best part, some of these shows are just five bucks, and the most expensive ones are only $12.50. There’ll also be after-parties at places like Mellow Mushroom and Butcher & Bee. For all the deets on the performers and the parties, check out the program guide inside this issue.
