Charleston Beer Exchange tarts things up

Return of the Randall

Instead of the usual Rare Beer Tuesday, Claus Hagelman of Delaware-based brewery Dogfish Head stops by the Charleston Beer Exchange today to show off the Dogfish-invention Randall 3.0.

By filtering additional ingredients through the device, the Randall changes a beer’s flavor as far as one’s creativity takes them. The brewery will be giving demonstrations of the device today from 4:30 to 6 p.m., as well as filling growlers and offering tastings.

Dogfish will be running Charleston Coffee Roasters coffee through their winter seasonal Chicory Stout, plus another blend so outrageous that CBX had to issue a disclaimer as not to offend beer purists. The mix? Dogfish’s Festina Peche, with dried apricots and Sour Patch Kids added. Like a Four Loko for those with master’s degrees.
