Charleston Animal Society's Dog Days Downtown

When: Sat., Nov. 10, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 11, 1-5 p.m. 2012
How’s this for a heartbreaker: Toby is a dog who arrived at the Charleston Animal Society suffering from terrible chemical burns. Luckily, his story has a happy ending, as the CAS rehabilitated him and he’s now been adopted into a loving home. This weekend, you can help make sure other needy animals end up in happy homes at the CAS’s awareness and fundraising event, Dog Days Downtown. On Saturday, the CAS will have a booth at the Marion Square Farmers’ Market where you can learn about their work, donate to their special medical fund (named Toby’s Fund), buy special Dog Days T-shirts, and — everyone’s favorite — meet some of their adoptable animals. The next day, which happens to be a Second Sunday on King, participating businesses will have Dog Days Dollars donation boxes, and some will even welcome adoptable dogs into their stores. Already have an adopted pup? Take him or her for a strut down King to help spread the word about adoption. And don’t forget to wear your stylin’ Dog Days T-shirt.
