Capriccio has been a favorite spot for old-fashioned Italian-American cooking in the heart of Mt. Pleasant since 1995. The small interior has red-checkered tablecloths and booths with big umbrellas suspended over them, and the walls are covered with a hodgepodge of photographs, oil paintings of Italian scenes, and assorted knickknacks. Choose from the full canon of veal and chicken dishes, including marsala, parmigiana, and piccata. Hefty portions of lasagna and ravioli, steamy and bubbling with cheese, are served in red Le Creuset pots, and there's always plenty of sliced bread with olive oil and grated parm for the table. With a house chianti in a short, sturdy glass and Frank belting out "My Way" in the background, it's the perfect setting for a 1960s-esque Italian evening. —Robert Moss, Dish (Summer 2011)
