Go back in time to the Salons & Ballrooms of 1817 Charleston to celebrate the bicentennial of the Unitarian Church in Charleston. Performers include Chamber Music Charleston musicians John Samuel Roper, Sandra Nikolajevs, and Irina Pevzner, guest soloist Sophia Zimmerman, and commentary by music historian Nic Butler. The South Carolina Hymn of 1807 opens the concert, followed by music by Handel and Haydn and Irish Melodies by Thomas Moore. A reception follows in Gage Hall. Proceeds benefit music students in underserved schools in Charleston. Both Sanctuary and Gage Hall are handicapped accessible, and babysitting is provided.
