BY THE NUMBERS ‌ Hot Child in the City

Brutal summer heat means greater demand for more than just deodorant. The figures at right represent the single day in July of each year when SCE&G customers used the most electricity (peak demand). As of July 20, 4393 megawatts is the peak demand for July 2006, but we’d bet our bikinis that number will rise before of Aug. 1.

*As of July 20 2006

These numbers represent electricity usage by the approximately 613,000 customers served by SCE&G in 24 counties in the central, southern, and southwestern portions of South Carolina.
