Bull Street Gourmet cuts the ribbon on King

Bull Street Gourmet celebrated their grand opening Saturday night with a gathering of family, friends, and their King Street neighbors. It’s a good thing the new place is significantly bigger than the original location, because it was packed to the gills with the Bull Street faithful.

Owner Justin Croxall schmoozed with guests while new chef Derek Falta kept busy in the shiny new kitchen. Employees passed around trays of tasty grub like pulled pork sandwiches and sushi while two tables were kept stocked with turkey burgers, paté, and sandwiches. Guests lined up at the front counter for pours of wine and craft beers, while off to the side, Jared Jones of Charleston Artisan Cheesehouse shared slices of his yummy cheese.

Judging by the well-organized staff and fully stocked shelves — including everything from heirloom tomatoes to duck fat to organic diapers — Bull Street Gourmet is more than ready for its Monday opening.
