Re: “Charleston police seek to install more license plate readers

Has the region thought about both enforcement and economic/social help for North Charleston? There are more than a few cities impacted that might be able to help financially, but not just to arrest but also to provide support services. Would drop the crime in the Tri-county area for everyone....

Re: “The Agenda: Bridge bike lane roadblock?; Haley to veto aid bill; Rep not required to disclose rent paid to donor

I am all good man! I split time with San Francisco so I get my fill there as well and see some of that cities follies too.

Always change, and some people have different ideas. Best of luck!

Global list. Only one American city...I think it might be hard to relate to people the quality of life improvements of walkable/bike-able cities until you have done it extensively. Like describing a good hamburger to someone only used to fast food...

Does Charleston want to be on this list...it was in 2010, but fell off...I guess the question is if Charleston wants to be in league with great cities like this or a place for tourists, rich retirees, and folks stuck in traffic....

Re: “The Agenda: Bridge bike lane roadblock?; Haley to veto aid bill; Rep not required to disclose rent paid to donor

First off the bulk of the SF Bay bridge ADT is in the exact same timeframe, and far far larger volume. 8,000 cars over 120 minutes over 3 lanes is 22 cars per minute only 5 days a week. With that rate, the amount of traffic should not have anything to do with lanes - you really should be able to do it with two lanes, so there is either an ingress or egress issue bridge lanes not-withstanding. The traffic should not materially increase by math, but people may get confused or there could be poorly architected post bridge entries/exits that are exposed...

Bikes lanes, and pedestrian lanes, are hallmarks or world class cities. The opposite is true of many poorly planned and poor quality of life cities. The population of Charleston is growing, and with a car centric attitude, it is going to get really bad in terms of parking, traffic, and access cultural centers...maybe you can hang out in the Walmart parking lot where there is lots of parking?

Biking to downtown would be a great option for denser housing in the neck, West Ashley, and perhaps an HOV lane for express buses and carpoolers from farther out.

My generation is doing fine. Struggling against the massive pollution, single use plastic, car traffic, suburban dwelling, trump voting, chain store shopping, job outsourcing, corporate/pesticide/GMO/Anti-biotic farming, homophobic, diabetic, drug war starting, war mongering, obese, generation of yours ;). I am sure Allen would be proud!

We are just innovating out from your mess, and are better for it. Finally a generation leading from the front again...
