Re: “RESTAURANT REVIEW: Moose's Famous BBQ

HEAVEN on EARTH!!! My newlywed wife and I ventured to Charleston in hopes of transfering there with my job from Orlando. After a long search for our first home out in the low country, we decided to try the local BBQ scene. After many stops at closed-down BBQ joints my car's navigation suggested, we arrived at Moose's as our last-chance stop before driving back to Florida. WOW!! The experience there was like nirvana. Not only was this the BEST BBQ food we ever had (and I'm from Texas), but it was probably the best dining experience we ever encountered. The wonderful family who runs this pitstop is barnone the most generous and befriending family I have ever come across in public. They greet every customer with genuine smiles and soon become a family you'd like to adpot. From the fun-loving parents down to the tight-knit kind-spirited siblings who serve you up good down the line, this family always treats you like celebrities when you come in to eat their unbelievably good varieties. I have to admit this place was one of the factors that influenced our decision to make the move to South Carolina. During our first week in our new home, with no furniture or kitchenware, we drove the 26 miles to Moose's and ate there 4 nights in a row, and still spent less than $100 that week! Since then, it is almost ritual for us to eat at Moose's just about every Friday night. We befriended their tall and charismatic son, Mark, who usually cuts the meats. Come to find out Mark is a fantastic and super-talented musician and singer. He gave us a demo CD and after listening, couldn't believe he hasn't hit it big yet. He is surely on his way, though. And by the way, their chicken tenders are so phenominal that the Moose family could make millions off packaging them alone and selling them in groceries stores nationwide. I dare you to find better chicken fingers! We can't say enough great things about this place, and the family who runs it. Look forward to the father/owner making his frequent rounds to each table to crack jokes at his customers and make sure everyone has had enough to eat and enough to laugh about. And the desserts are to die for! You will leave bursting at the seams!!!
