Re: “The Asian focused Aya Cookhouse rises above the shopping-mall stigma

Alas, we are doomed. Red Orchid isn't all that great, IMHO. But unfortunately, it is the best we've had in the area. Since moving here a number of years ago, I've lamented the lack of really good Chinese food. Along with a good Cuban restaurant, an excellent, traditional Chinese restaurant is a glaring omission on our local culinary scene. Red Orchid is better than most, for sure. But that's not saying much. It really is not up to snuff. I haven't been to Aya and I am more than happy to give them the chance. The menu from the description here is less than traditional, and that could be a wonderful thing.

Re: “Best Mt. Pleasant Restaurant

It's best only if you consider the food and were born deaf. I won't set foot in the place again because I value my hearing over great enchiladas. Any restaurant where it is difficult to hear your wait person who is literally screaming at you is just a "tad" too loud. Call me old- fashioned, but dining at 100 decibels isn't "fine" in any sense of the word. If you must, go at a time when you can insist on sitting outside. I guarantee you traffic on Coleman Blvd will be much quieter than the noise inside.

Re: “Glenn McConnell on LGBTQ community: 'It's not my job to judge people. Someone else will do that'

Umm, CofC like every school of "higher" education in SC ALREADY is third rate at best. Sorry. But that's the truth. Look at any national institutional ranking and not a single school from SC even gets into the top 100 schools. Some individual programs are quite well regarded, but overall school rankings? Third rate at best.
