Blume: By the People, For the People

When: Thu., Oct. 16, 10 p.m. 2008
Price: $3, $7
All forms of art come together at the notoriously fun Club Pantheon with Blume II — for the people, by the people. This extravaganza boasts a mirage of live art and dance along with the electronic music stylings of three local spinners — Pandamonium, DJ Commander, and DJ Pericles. The night kicks off with an artist’s reception then quickly jumps into party mode. If you need a new MySpace picture, hop into the old school Polaroid booth and bam — you have a new default. But first, visit the live screen-printing table so you have cool new digs for the shot. Once the social lubricants kick in, show off your dance skills on Pantheon’s dance floor and stage. Or if you’re not so quick on your feet, watch b-boys and Blume dancers bring out their best moves while enjoying video art and graphics by VJ projectionists. There will also be art on sale featuring local artists like Nathan Durfee, Philip Hyman, Soteria Kontis, and Matthew Bowers a.k.a. DJ Commander. You’ll have plenty of cash to spend inside on all the neat offerings because entry is only $5 ($10 if you’re under 21). —Kelly Stroup
