Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

How often do the cops tell a bank robber that it's ok as long as he brings the money back? I don't get your rationalizations. I never cheated on my spouse or stole from my employer. It's now ok to overlook huge defects in character because "everybody does it?" Please, speak for yourself!

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

Laura Elmore Floyd, I can respect conservatives like you. And what the heck is this "socialist agenda" people keep talking about? It doesn't exist. It's a fantasy. If keeping my Social Security and Medicare benefits is a "socialist agenda" then I'm on board. Why do so many Republicans want to take my benefits away and use them to pay down a debt that was created, and is still being created, by overblown defense spending?

And before you start ranting about the ACA being "socialist," take a look at all the money those "capitalist" insurance companies are going to make from it. Europeans have socialized medical care, which is a completely different thing. Of course your tv and radio demagogues aren't going to tell you that.

Obama is about as far left as Nixon. Reagan would be too liberal for the Tea Party.
And this president has spent far less than either Reagan or Bush. Our deficits are from unpaid-for wars, but you still imagine that racking up debt with an "R" beside your name doesn't really count. That's fiscal conservatism? Less government regulation means corporations take up the slack. They will own you, and you will not be able to vote them out.

Sanford is just another one of those guys who picks up a cushy government paycheck and benefits for life, while telling you government is "bad." And who cheats on his wile and steals from his state while lecturing people on "family values." Just another con man.

Now go ahead. Flame me all you want. You know you want to.

Re: “Only a bold move will bring big biz to the Holy City

"Ryland Homes, for example, has raised the base price on its new construction homes by $13,000 since October. "

You say that like it's a good thing - is the house $13,000 better than it was in October? So much for affordable housing. Whatever the market will bear. It would be nice if this region produced enough jobs that actually paid enough to enable locals to buy homes.

Texas is a "booming" economy, alright! It's also a poster child for what happens when businesses run rampant and there are no zoning laws. Whole towns blow up there on a regular basis, while the governor refuses federal money for any services used by non-wealthy citizens. Actually, it's starting to sound a lot like South Carolina will be after Sanford goes back to Washington.
