Black Cat Cabaret

When: Thu., Jan. 23, 8 & 10 p.m. 2014
Price: $20/adults, $10/seniors
Journey has a lot to answer for, mostly because of the godawful “Don’t Stop Believing.” The only thing that song gets right is the coolness of singers in smoky rooms. And while the Mezz won’t be smoky, they’ll get the rousing nature of intimate song performances when it transforms into a cabaret for the evening. The ladies of UNED!TED take the stage to perform hits from the likes of Eartha Kitt, Judy Garland, and even Beyonce and Lady GaGa. Laura Ball acts as the emcee for the evening as well as the third part of the trio — the other two chanteuses are Shelby Levine and Mary Fishburne. “Guests should expect a laid-back, conversational cabaret atmosphere within a concert setting and some of the tightest three-part female harmony in town,” promises Ball. There’ll also be food and drinks from Sermet’s to help really set the cabaret tone.
