Re: “THE USUAL SUSPECTS ‌ Mel Media

Please bear with me for a brief genealogy. You'll all probably find it offensive, so I'm not discriminating. Semites, descendants of Shem, son of Noah, include Abraham and his kids. The first boy-child was Ishmael, through Hagar a descendant of Canaan, son of Ham who did a not-clearly-defined bad thing to Papa Noah while the latter was in a drunken stupor. Deferring for later any argument about Canaanites worshiping Baal and his girlfriend, especially in light of current revelations about some Episcopal Church women, please consider this. Abraham's kids are the patriarchs of most of the Semites, so Semitic people are Jews and Arabs -- both. Did you get that? Once again, Semitic people are Arabs as well as Jews. So for all you people who hate the Jews until you decide you hate Mel Gibson worse, he has yet to be recorded cussing out an Arab officer. This makes Mel only half anti-Semitic -- if that. For all you folks who pride yourselves on being inclusive (unless you're asked to include Conservatives or middle-age, middle-class white males), are you willing to widen your unbrella to include those who get mad at Arabs too? For all you Conservatives, can you truly deny being anti-Semitic when you bad-mouth the descendants of Old Abe's other kid? (By the way, let's not leave out Keturah's kids: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.Abe's their daddy too.) The only one of those you'll probably care about are Jethro and the other Midianites, especially if you saw Charlton Heston in that famous movie. Y'see, all you folks who so lightly throw around that S- word, whether you like or dislike the self-funding producer of The Passion of the Christ, might want to be absolutely clear on the terms you use. BTW, Shem had other offspring, but there's a nice book that talks about them if you care to read it. The name of the book starts with "G" and that's the same letter the real author's name starts with. Grace, Peace, Blessings, and Joy to all of you, Charles+
