Once again, the Center for Birds of Prey will present flight demos with falcons, hawks, owls, and vultures, but this show isn’t just about aerobatics; it’s also about learning the role that these birds play in the ecosystem. Raptors are at the top of the food chain, and they need to be seen to be believed. Since 1991, the Center for Birds of Prey has treated and released thousands of injured birds, including victims of oil spills. Birds of prey are also important gauges for environmental damage, so their conservation couldn’t be more important to the Lowcountry. —Davin Turkewitz
