Biggest Barbecue Bummer

Closing of Hello My Name is BBQ

Staff Pick

Taste buds all over Charleston and beyond mourned the day owners Ryner and Cody Burg announced the closing of Hello My Name is BBQ at the beginning of this year. A food truck success story for the ages, the couple ran a booming brick-and-mortar business on upper Meeting Street to complement the food truck that won us all over in the first place. Claiming they simply wanted to “take the money and run” and spend more quality time with their kids, the Burgs shut the doors for good only a few days after going public with the sad news. This prompted us to spend those final days feasting on everything we’ve ever loved, like the Boss Hog sammie, barbecue and bacon tacos, shrimp and grits, meatloaf biscuits, banana pudding (oh, that banana pudding), and the Saturday brunch favorite, bottomless mimosas. R.I.P. HMNIBBQ.
