Taking a firm stand against the degradation of contemporary popular music, Entropy Ensemble will go back to a time where whipping one’s hair back and forth was relegated to powdered wigs. The brainchild of College of Charleston alumnus Andrew Walker, the Ensemble will perform chamber-music renditions of songs by Radiohead, a band known for their electronic arrangements. Walker, a classically-trained pianist, debuted his project in 2007 at the Sottile Theatre. Since then, the group has transformed into an entirely different monster, solidifying its lineup and receiving national attention. Walker returns to the Sottile with bassist Ben Wells, violinist Javier Orman, percussionist Stewart White, and cellist Lonnie Root. The quintet further transforms Radiohead’s beeps and blips into delicate organic arrangements with the debut of “Between the Lines.” The program is a multimedia collaboration between the group and the College of Charleston School of the Arts, incorporating elements of film, dance, and animation in addition to the music. Guest artists include Christopher O’Reilly and Annex Dance Company. VIP tickets will get you VIP seating and entry into a meet-and-greet party with the performers. Proceeds go towards Carolina Studios and CofC’s School of the Arts. —Jansen Cumbie
