Best way to eat like Mario and Luigi after defeating King Kuppa

Staff Pick

If the Mario Brothers lived in the Lowcountry — which, by the way, would be awesome — the place you’d most likely find them chowing down and kicking back is Iacofano’s Italian Bar & Grill. Head chef and owner John Iacofano opened the location in 2005 as a deli, and turned it into a full-service restaurant in 2008. Iacofano’s now offers a robust Italian menu (mmm, chicken parm), killer weekday buffet, Sunday brunch, and catering services. The restaurant has also become something of an entertainment hub, featuring live music most nights, and kicking up the party scene on the weekends. “I’ve got a family, and (the restaurant) kind of emulates what we do,” Iacofano says. “We have the acoustic stuff during the week and it’s pretty calm, but on the weekends after 9:30 it’s time to let loose.” Grab some coins and head on down. Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and the rest of the gang are waiting.
