Sk8 Charleston

Staff Pick

With 33,000 square feet of skatepark stretched out over three acres, this long-awaited project seemed like it would never happen. Some of the area’s veteran skaters didn’t think that they’d see Sk8 Charleston finished in their lifetimes. But after a decade of work and planning, Charleston finally has a public place where skaters can grind it out without fear of arrest. There’s even time set aside in the park for BMXers. See guys, we can all get along. It just takes 10 years and $4.6 million. —Dustin Waters
