Best Tourist Trap

Charleston City Market

Readers Pick

All things considered, we've got one of the classier tourist traps on the planet. Yeah, there are plenty of gewgaws and made-in-China ephemera, but you're also liable to find some genuine local handiwork. The sweetgrass baskets are expensive, but that's because they're incredibly labor-intensive. Heck, we live here, and we still try to walk through and see what's going on at least once every summer.
