Ken Vedrinski has always made us work for his food. First, he was up at the Woodlands in the middle of a Summervillian pine forest, turning out five-star plates of food. Then he was out on Daniel Island at Sienna, his first solo venture that had plenty of fans and accolades. When he finally came downtown, he didn't open on any well-traveled street corner. Oh, no. He pioneered and made us come to him in the 'hood on Bogard Street. But come we did. His food is just that good. Last summer, he finally found a spot to put his Italian seafood concept — unfortunately for us, it was all the way out on the edge of Isle of Palms. But the trek is worth it. Not only do you get to indulge in the freshest seafood preparations (crudo di pesce!) and dig into beautiful plates of pasta (spagettoni with blue crab!), but you get to do so while gazing at the Atlantic Ocean. It's quite a setting and it's definitely worth the trip.
