Best Place to Recycle Furniture

Lowcountry Consignments & Charleston Consignment Co.

Staff Pick

There’s a place between Goodwill and Morris Sokol that exists in Charleston’s furniture world that’s not Rooms To Go, you just have to be willing to go on a treasure hunt to find it. Charleston Consignments Co., on the corner of Isabella and Nassau streets downtown, is full of chairs, couches, bed frames, throw pillows, lamps, rugs, and just about anything else you might need to finish up that last room in your house. If you’re on the hunt for end tables, storage buffets, armoires, or even a four-poster bed, chances are you can find it here or at their other location in Mt. Pleasant, which is even larger and more stuffed full of finds. It’s like shopping at a garage sale without having to get up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday and spend the day looking through other people’s crap. They’ve already sorted and picked out the best of the best for resale. The prices can be a little high, but don’t let that stop you from negotiating a better deal. This is the kind of place you can find a diamond in the rough and then not feel bad about customizing it to match your own style. And, if you’re looking to unload some old stuff of your own, this is a great option if you don’t have time for a Craigslist transaction.
