Jessica Oliver is a plucky, sprite-like indie popper, both in spirit — her stage persona is one-part Shirley Temple, one-part bed-head hangover hipster — and on record (See 2013’s Dumb Supper). And while the album was in some ways a rehash of her lo-fi debut, Swimming for Keeps, it’s still one of the finest discs to ever come out of the Holy City. From the cheeky album opener “Dag” — which drops in a few Charleston references — to the jangly, Kim Deal-ish closer “Francis,” Oliver proves that she is one performer we won’t forget.
