Street art can be hard to come by in Charleston. The brand keepers like to keep the city properly old timey. But occasionally a project gets a greenlight, and we’re sure glad the latest one at Dart Library did. In honor of Cynthia Graham Hurd, who managed Dart from 1990-2011 and was murdered in the Emanuel AME shooting last summer, painter R. Robots (Nicholas Kuszyk) created a book-themed mural on the side of the building. Sponsored by Enough Pie, the mural is a beautiful reminder of a woman who committed her entire life to literacy. —Kinsey Gidick
