Judging by the word Zappo’s still painted on the side of 708 King St. building, it could be a while before we get to try chef Robert Berry and owner Jimmy Poole’s forthcoming Pancito & Lefty. But we did get one sneak taste last year at the Wine + Food Festival ticket launch and if the new Mexican restaurant delivers more eats like that, we’re all in for a treat. Berry served up tiny, quail egg-topped chilaquiles that were the highlight of the event. If he serves the dish in a grande size, we’ll be customers for life. —Kinsey Gidick
