Best Charlestonian To Star In A Movie As Himself In 2010

Shepard Fairey

Staff Pick

Along with Banksy, the mystery man of the guerrilla art world, Lowcountry native Shepard Fairey appeared in Exit Through the Gift Shop, a 2010 documentary that positively skewers gullible art aficionados. The fascinating film was also nominated for an Academy Award, but, sadly, it didn't win. That said, Fairey won the Holy City's heart a long time ago, and this year he returned the favor by wheatpasting a new poster at Eye Level Art and plastering a few Obey stickers around town.
