Best Bus Stops in Need of Repairing

Meeting Street

Staff Pick

Some of you may not know this, but Meeting Street doesn't come to an end in Charleston. It may appear that at some point Meeting miraculously transforms into Spruill much in the same way East Bay Street becomes Morrison Drive, but that's not the case. It continues all the way to North Charleston, stopping in the Iron Dog district on the outskirts of Park Circle. It's actually a pleasant little drive and a nice alternative route to get from downtown to North Chuck. (Oops. We hope we didn't just ruin that shortcut.) Now, if you take that route, one thing you'll notice is just how crappy some of the bus stops are. Some are nothing more than a bare patch of dirt amongst the weeds, while others have been completely overtaken by brush, forcing riders to stand in the middle of a mass of vegetation or in the street. Not good. Hey CARTA, we know you're in the middle of transforming, but how about you fix these stops first?
