Transit Antenna

Transit Antenna

What's better than creating a place for grassroots contemporary art? Creating a place for grassroots contemporary art that you can drive anywhere in the country. That's what Bob Snead and Seth Gadsden did. Last month, the founders of Redux Contemporary Art Center embarked on a multi-year odyssey across the United States in an old bus that runs on vegetable oil. It's called Transit Antenna and the point is to collaborate with artists, creating installations and exhibits in cities along the way, and to document the whole journey while being green. They'll wrap it all up by 2010, by which time they'll likely never eat fried chicken again.
