Women warriors

The Center for Women will honor five Charleston women nominated by their peers for showing bravery in their lives. These women have been selected from dozens of nominations for this honor based on their advocacy, community involvement, and courage. Their stories of bravery will be told during the brunch. Three Little Birds Café will be catering this event with a plated brunch featuring fresh salad, quiche, cold soup, sweet potato biscuits, and cupcakes from ShortCake. The five being honored on Thursday are Germaine Jenkins, the founder and CEO of Fresh Future Farm, Ainsley Glenn, who was diagnosed with dysautonomia and is now an advocate, Elizabeth Steed, the director of the LEARN Foundation which rescues large animals, Lesley Rathburn, a nurse practitioner and midwife at Charleston Birth Place, and Ella Bolton, a six-year-old with colitis.
