I recently ate at Mistral. I was just "cruising" to see what the City was all about since I had heard so much about the downtown area from friends. As I walked down the street I heard the sounds of some magnificent music drifting out of this small restaurant. I poked my head in the door to see what was happening and found the place was packed and lively. The musicians were parked right at the front door playing some of the best Jazz and Blues. We decided to give the place a try. At least we would hear some great music... We had to wait a little bit for a table since the place was full but we had a few drinks and listened to a great trumpet player and vocalist, Bill Averbach, who was with the band that night. When we did get a table we were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and friendly service. The night was perfect! The music was perfect! The food was perfect!
