Bands battle for a good cause

Trident United Way's Battle of the Bands is on

Trident United Way's fifth annual Battle of the Bands blowout is set for Thurs. Aug. 26 at the Music Farm. The roster is comprised of various professionals, from lawyers to executive assistants, who will compete against each other and showcase some underground talent from the Lowcountry.

As a requirement, each band has chosen a partner organization with which to complete a volunteer program or tour of their facility. This year, Trident United Way encourages participation in "Rock Your Socks Off" by bringing new socks for those in need at Crisis Ministries. Each sock donation will be rewarded with a ticket for a free pint of craft beer.

Bands include Big Bang Theory, Hwy. 17 Band, Henry's Attic, TranceFusion, Dirtweed, Steel Petals, Headrush, Ascending Heights, Deadontime, Cindi & The Sound Catz, Hundred Hands Down, Fatter Then Albert, NOTA, and On the Hunt.

Admission is $10 and music starts at 6 p.m. Visit for more.
