From The Mill’s “Bloody Bacon” martini to Shine’s chocolate bacon sundae featured in this summer’s Dish, there is a wealth of creative bacon-related recipes around town. In association with their 4th annual Porktoberfest event, Ted’s Butcherblock hosts a Bacon Cook-Off, in which contestants use one of Ted’s artisanal bacons in a recipe that serves eight people. Contestants must register by Oct. 7 via e-mail and entries must be received at Ted’s by noon on Oct. 10. A panel of local chefs will determine the winner, who will receive a three-month “subscription” to Ted’s Bacon of the Month Club, in addition to being featured in November’s menu. Your recipe may not make you famous, but it will definitely give you local bragging rights for biggest baconaholic.
