Nerds, unite

AtomaCon is Charleston’s first three-day, multi-genre gaming, science, and technology convention. The event features over 30 authors and artists, including guest of honor, writer Keith DeCandido, who has written books about Star Trek, Doctor Who, X-Men, and Sleepy Hollow. Guests can also look forward to music from Dimensional Riffs, described as a “nerd rock band,” Noise Complaint, a cosplay tap dance ensemble, and Tina McSwain, a paranormal expert. The programming for this event is pretty extensive, starting with opening ceremonies on Fri. Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. and ending with a Con wrap up on Sun. Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. In between you’ll get to participate in a Sci-Fi Hollywood game night, a practical self-defense workshop, and a seminar on pitching your short story or novel.
