Re: “Police stop Uber driver citing statewide ban

The real reason Uber was banned is because they were decreasing the amount of drunk drivers on the road. DUIs being the cities main source of revenue, the city decided to put the taxi service behind a barrier.

It's really about them making money and has nothing to do with peoples safety. Uber has been shown to lower the amount of DUI arrests in the area it operates.

So the cops and the city are more interested in profits than with the safety of the people they supposedly vowed to serve. Sounds like a familiar theme.
