Re: “The Olde North Charleston Picture House

Honestly believing that homosexuality is a choice is a shameful act. Also, thinking that you have any right to oppress a group of people because you have a narrow minded, religious fueled opinion is shameful. It baffles me that people want to enforce their commandments on society, when not everyone is religious. It must be so time consuming and emotionally draining to continuously hate and spew hate on public forums. I feel sorry for you. You, obviously, are so invested in other people's lives that it must be hard to focus on yourself or any greater good that could come from a diverse and accepting society- or creative outlets, such as The Picture House, that are a place for people to come together, create, discuss, and stimulate their minds/creative energy. To say that people who are against homosexuality are not the problem is completely false. You are denying them basic rights and subsequently labeling them less than human, you are the people who commit hate crimes against them, and you are the ones discriminating people for being themselves. I'm not sure what memories or emotions you are repressing that make you feel that way, but I truly, truly feel sorry for anyone who carries around the burden of perpetual hate in their heart. Maybe one day you and your like-minded comrades will realize hating people is completely pointless and that every person in this world should be loved and respected.

Sincerely,
A 23 year old heterosexual female/ally to the LGBTQ community
