Peter and Wexler got it right. I tried to make a life in Charleston for 7 years out of college. Once I turned 30, I was in more debt than I made in my annual salary just by paying my basic living expenses. I finally wised up and realized if I ever intended to have a dime left over for home ownership or retirement it was time to say goodbye to being able to go to the beach every weekend.
