Re: “Edmund's Oast lives up to the hype — and then some

We've had two great experiences there. Love the cocktails, great service, and such interesting, delicious food.

Re: “S.C. natural birth centers could face closure by state regulators

I started my OB care at MUSC, and while it is a great hospital, I decided that Charleston Birth Place would be not only a better experience for me but a SAFER one. MUSC made it clear that because of nurse shift changes and other issues, I would likely have to electronic fetal monitoring which I've read many cons about. I also knew that in a hospital setting, I'd feel less relaxed and therefore more likely to receive pitocin and epidural which can lead to various complications. Charleston Birth Place provided a safe, highly professional option that was also incredibly meaningful for our family. And as a side note, it is much more affordable in a time where our state and country is doing everything it can to bring down health care costs, not drive them back up because of some bureaucratic hurdle.
