Re: “Charleston County closes bars at 2 a.m.

Surely you're aware that the strip clubs off Meeting reside in a block-sized area outside of both Charleston and North Charleston city limits, hence why they're going strong at 3 am. I haven't been there in years but I imagine they'll be hit quite hard by this as much of the business in such a shady area was from being the only place to drink after 2.

Meanwhile, turkeys are 59 cents a pound at Publix. Just saying.

Re: “Nancy Mace: Term limits are the only way to stop the ruling elitists

"Nancy Mace is the first woman to graduate from the Citadel. She is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Lindsey Graham."

I really feel like this should have been put instead at the very top, or at least have the author mention that in the first paragraph. It was really weird to read what I initially thought was a good government editorial by a concerned citizen, only for it to transition into repeated weird attacks against one politician in particular, and then find out at the very end, oh yeah, this is the person running against the politician she just spent most of an article attacking. I guess I got misled into increasing the viewership of a blatant campaign attack piece the City Paper was nice enough to post for her.

Nancy, I hate to break it to you, but if the only argument you have to make against Senator Graham is that he's been in the Senate for ten years and you haven't, I don't see your primary campaign going very far. Here's some questions you perhaps should have addressed instead of simply spouting platitudes about the mess in Washington: Did you support the government shutdown? Would you as a Senator be willing to risk defaulting on our debt in order to extract policy concessions? Do you think Senator Graham should have voted to keep the shutdown going and keep the debt ceiling from being raised? Do you consider Ted Cruz someone whose tactics you think should be emulated? I think City Paper readers would be quite interested in your views on those issues instead of term limits.

Re: “The SCGOP's attempt to win over minorities is a disaster

"So, the dead americans at bengazi are fantasies of the delusional?"

If only you and the rest of the Republicans gave anywhere near as much concern and care for the four thousand Americans dead in the pointless wars you started as you do for the four dead in that incident. And, yes, continuing to harp on that as though the 87th time will finally unravel the truth and take down Obama is the height of delusion.

Re: “Charleston School of Law has been in contact with InfiLaw for years

I feel really bad for these students, but situations like this often happen at for-profit schools. Hopefully this will serve as a warning that when you sign up for a school like that, you shouldn't be surprised when they end up acting in the interests of maximizing profit rather than in your interests. Of course, healthy parts of that profit goes to hiring armies of lobbyists to make sure no regulation ever affects the methods they use to obtain it.
