Get your God on
When they call Charleston the "Holy City," they might be referring to all the churches we have, but you can't forget the synagogues. The fourth oldest Jewish congregation in the U.S. is located right here, and Piccolo's Jewish Culture Series features a multitude of programs.

It ain't Fiddler on the Roof
Jellyfish, an Israeli film that won the Camera d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, details three women with intersecting lives. The film screens at the College of Charleston's Jewish Studies Center (96 Wentworth St.) at 9:30 a.m. on June 6.

But no "Hanukkah Song."
The main draw of the World of Jewish Culture is the music. Jewish Music Among Old Friends is a classical program, and you'll get two chances to hear some George Gershwin.
