A chef competition — for the kids

Louie's Kids, that is

Louie's Kids, a nonprofit that works to fight childhood obesity, is teaming up with five renowned local chefs for an Iron Chef showdown — Chucktown style.

On Aug. 6, the chosen tykes and the culinary tycoons will pair up at the Civic Design Center and together prepare a healthy, yummy dish in the hopes of wowing the crowd. Participating chefs include Nico Romo from Fish, Michelle Weaver from Charleston Grill, Bob Carter from Peninsula Grill, Craig Diehl from Cypress, and Marc Collins from Circa 1886.

Tickets to Big Chef/Little Chef are $35 in advance or $40 at the door, with beer and wine included. Proceeds from the event will benefit Louie's Kids and the fight against childhood obesity.
