Re: “Renderings revealed for Emanuel Nine memorial by designer of Sept. 11 memorial

The white color of this "sail colored" escalator to nowhere memorial wall design just so happens to be the SAME COLOR AS THE CHURCH ITSELF thereby equating the church to the "white wall of sails+slavery" they are building right outside.

This WHITE coloration being the same intentionally to portray that the escalator to nowhere walls they are building are synonymous to the church itself ( this is done by the designer choosing the same color). I find this design INSIDIOUS and I vote two thumbs down. Could this church be so blind as to build a memorial that equates the AME church to the establishment of "white supression"?

That is just how I see this design. It looks like an escalator to no new heights. It is almost satanic when looked at from that angle.

Re: “Renderings revealed for Emanuel Nine memorial by designer of Sept. 11 memorial

The picture kind of reminds me of an escalator (one that doesn't go to new hieghts like at an airport) from the picture.

Then it looks like this escalator (going to no new heights) becomes a white wall you can rest comfortably inside to block out the noise from the streets...

It kind of feels alien to what actually happened here *when a LONE NUT who watched too much brainwashing news media went crazy and murdered all of those good people, because he was mad over kim kardashian.

Is that curved stone at the middle spot of the memorial a place to put giant hardboiled eggs they are about to eat representing our children?

Is there another company out there that builds monuments? or do these 9/11 commemoration architects like Arad have a monopoly in this market? He sure is a world famous name brand now though he profited so much from 9/11 tragedies?

Re: “Slavery apology a good step, but Charleston must also take down Confederate monuments

When was the last time the USA built a memorial because it was proud of its achievements? The statue of liberty? The gateway arch in St. Louis?

Why are we in the USA building all of these great loss and tragedy memorials lately? 9/11 memorials are all they build nowadays it seems... and it is psychological warfare aimed at destroying the American mind through NEWS BRAINWASHING to make us weaker.

The last memorial I remember being built was the 9/11 (all coordinated and advertised by the news), and I am not a fan of its architecture (It's just 9/11 pro war propoganda to be honest they don't give a damn about those people that the BUSH administration KILLED).

The whole space at the memorial looks like the buildings were just Lego blocks, and in my mind it kind of just looks like a construction site with no workers. It promotes the american "victim" mentality, and it also promoted the "i lost everything in the recession" type losers of all colors. It gave them something to blame instead of themselves.

This type of victim mentality is now being memorialized to ALL AMERICANS regardless of color, and it is weakness and VILE to the AMERICAN IDEA of self reliance and HOPE.

If they build that AME Church shooting memorial WITH THE SAME ARCHITECT OF THE 9/11 MEMORIAL that is all this memorial will become. A daily reminder of how oppressed and held back you are instead of how successful you are becoming.

We need to build more TRIUMPHANT monuments in CHARLESTON, than that crap in NY CITY or they are wasting our money and taking us for fools.

Re: “Downtown nightclub discontinues VIP memberships and makes staffing changes following allegations of racism on social media

good article, same thing happened to me at that church bar on market once. I was with a black friend and we were turned away as "too drunk" when we were just meeting up after work. Neither of us had taken a single drink. I dusted my sandals off, and decided that the BAR no longer needed my business. Never been back since.

Re: “Use smarter tools to be tough on trade

I wonder what our big export to China is? Maybe the tariffs will finally put pressure out there for modern American entrepreneurs for a change?

Profitable corporations run TO a disaster not FROM one if they want to stay making money. A sudden void in cheap parts or materials from china may open up the market to different investors here for a change. With tariffs in place there will now be more of a need for local businesses to fill our needs (Theoretically the pressure will be there since your saying the prices will go up).

Maybe the cost of oil with go down if we stop shipping so much crap back and forth from 4000 miles away. Most of it is just garbage we really don't need anyways. Maybe an appreciation of durability in products will go up as prices for disposable ones will increase as well. This could be a win for the united states and the environment in the end hopefully if managed right.
