Re: “Saltwater Cowboys

I had dinner there last night with my family. It's a pretty big place with lots of indoor / outdoor areas to eat drink (bars). As the "Cowboys" in the name implies, bbq is a key part of the menu which is unusual, historically speaking, for Shem Creek places. Plus fried and some other seafood (ceviche for example). Good appetizers.

The location and views are great, obviously, since it doesn't have another place next to it. Lots of young bar crowd also, so make sure you are in the "area" you want to be in if you're not in that crowd. We were seated quickly; our waitress was very professional and service was fast.

The fried grouper was really good and so were the chicken wings, the bbq was a bit dryer than I prefer but still good. I think for a family dinner on the creek, I would still go to Shem Creek Bar & Grill. For drinks and bar food, this place is good.

Re: “Charleston mayor and police chief will hold anti-discrimination talk at mosque with faith leaders on Wednesday

"...J. Goosby Smith, the Assistant Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The Citadel."

It's embarrassing that El Cid even has such a useless, pointless, feel-good position on staff now.

I'm sure this event will reference the recent terrorist attack against the mosque in NZ by a lone white nationalist. I'm not sure this event will reference the recent terrorist attack in Sri Lanka against Christians by a large and organized group of Islamic terrorists.

Re: “Citadel offering free, all-girl cybersecurity summer camp

Are my tax dollars paying for this? If so, and it seems that they are, why is my son denied entry based on his gender?

Re: “11 Asian restaurants in Charleston and what to order when you go

843 is Capital L LEGIT Korean food. We might have an authentic / traditional sushi place around CHS (as in, no cream cheese and sriracha sauce and jalapenos on the menu!) but I've not found it yet.

Re: “Let's be honest about the roots of Confederate monuments

Monuments to SC soldiers from the Secession War are appropriate memorials to the sons of our beloved Palmetto State who defended our home from invasion. We lost more men in 1861-1865 then all other American wars combined, including the British colonial wars that we participated in.

The memorials were mostly created at a time when those soldiers were dying out, which is normal (our national WWII memorial was opened in 2004). We would be poor sons and daughters of SC if we forgot them, which is why most of us will not.
