Re: “Saltwater Cowboys

I had dinner there last night with my family. It's a pretty big place with lots of indoor / outdoor areas to eat drink (bars). As the "Cowboys" in the name implies, bbq is a key part of the menu which is unusual, historically speaking, for Shem Creek places. Plus fried and some other seafood (ceviche for example). Good appetizers.

The location and views are great, obviously, since it doesn't have another place next to it. Lots of young bar crowd also, so make sure you are in the "area" you want to be in if you're not in that crowd. We were seated quickly; our waitress was very professional and service was fast.

The fried grouper was really good and so were the chicken wings, the bbq was a bit dryer than I prefer but still good. I think for a family dinner on the creek, I would still go to Shem Creek Bar & Grill. For drinks and bar food, this place is good.

Re: “Inspired by Burning Man, Charleston's Emergence aims for "radical inclusivity" and a little "sex magick," if you're OK with that

Something I found interesting in reading about Burning Man's history was how it started as "anything goes" but evolved to have quite a few rules. For example, after someone got driven over and killed, they had to regulate motorized vehicles. They have a volunteer police force sort of organization to enforce these rules. It's a good analogy for human society in general.

Re: “Stegelin: Impeach the Mother Gooser

CBP is clearly on the President's side in this and even NPR is running stories about it (there are many similar stories).

I support and agree with the statements (from the 1990's to pre-Trump) of Schumer, Pelosi, Clinton and Obama on border security. Trump is the variable they are reacting to, not any actual concern about border security.

But seriously, score one for Team RGI (Racial Grievance Industry). Pointless position.

Re: “As politicians drag their feet, poll shows Southerners agree that something should be done about Confederate symbols and statues

We do need to do something about them, I agree. Preventing leftwing nutjobs from destroying public statues and monuments is important.

Since we pass "hate crime" laws to turn acts which are already illegal into super double illegal acts, we should have "history crime" laws which turns acts destroying/damaging statues, plaques, monuments, etc into super double illegal acts. I am sure that in a poll of several hundred across the entire South I could find a majority. Then we're good to go, right?

I, for one, am completely ok with allowing the opinions of a few hundred people (in states with a combined population of tens of millions) to set governmental policy. What could go wrong?
