Re: “Saltwater Cowboys

I had dinner there last night with my family. It's a pretty big place with lots of indoor / outdoor areas to eat drink (bars). As the "Cowboys" in the name implies, bbq is a key part of the menu which is unusual, historically speaking, for Shem Creek places. Plus fried and some other seafood (ceviche for example). Good appetizers.

The location and views are great, obviously, since it doesn't have another place next to it. Lots of young bar crowd also, so make sure you are in the "area" you want to be in if you're not in that crowd. We were seated quickly; our waitress was very professional and service was fast.

The fried grouper was really good and so were the chicken wings, the bbq was a bit dryer than I prefer but still good. I think for a family dinner on the creek, I would still go to Shem Creek Bar & Grill. For drinks and bar food, this place is good.

Re: “S.C. 5th District: A race between a man who jokes about sexual assault and a man who has admitted to domestic abuse

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg came out saying she was groped by Abraham Lincoln," OH LAWDY NO HE DIDN'T ! Just a lame joke. Irrelevant.

We have one normal candidate running against a man who admitted to physical domestic violence against his ex-wife. But, the CCP equates the two. Seriously, this is why no one takes democrats seriously anymore.

Re: “UNC protests present debate of law versus morality

Of course there are war memorials to the German dead in WW2. Although in many cases the names of the dead were added to existing war memorials since most towns and villages already had those from WWI.

Japan still uses the same flag as the one they waged war and committed atrocities under, and they still have the same family as head of state. But, Hello Kitty is so cute and all...instead let's be mad at fellow Americans that want to remember their dead ancestors.

Re: “Stephen Colbert perfectly defensive after Trump's reported "dumb Southerner" insult

Trump is a loudmouth, thin-skinned, boorish yankee, and he's the worst sort - an arrogant New Yorker. I don't care if he likes me, Charleston or South Carolina. He's necessary and effective. Colbert all of the sudden pretending to be a Southern gentleman is closer to comedy than he usually gets, though.

Re: “UNC protests present debate of law versus morality

UNC students served the CSA in the military, some of them died doing so. It was a simple war memorial placed as that generation was fading away and also public property.

I am sure some other subsets of nutjobs in this country have justifiable cause (in their minds) against every single monument and statue that exists - so, they can just tear them down? Of course not. And yet here you are, defending exactly that.

Re: “A look back at John McCain's prophetic 2007 visit to College of Charleston

McCain's replacement in the Senate (Kyl) is a former Senator who is the son of another former member of Congress. That's an insider, people. Just like if your dad was President (Bush Jr), or your brother was (Ted Kennedy) or your husband was (failed candidate Clinton). That's not what we need.

But, the adoration of McCain due to his Trump-opponent status is fascinating to watch when contrasted to how he was reviled by leftists in 2008.
