it's funny because I find a strong homo-philliac line in Card's writing - not only Ender, but Alvin, and some others - I didn't know about his avowed politics, but I did wonder if he wasn't just using homophilia to increase his readership, or what. He is a terribly commercial sort of writer, and bogged down in his xtianity, adding it where it has no place except as an impediment - he is far from a great author himself- what he has done is to take some great ideas from many, many other authors and cobbled them together into those very overly long sagas of his - readable, yes, remarkable - only if you don't know anything else - and htat is a shame - but hey that's America, where margarine has to taste like butter and butter is verboten - what a haha
