Re: “The Capobiancos should stop fighting for custody of Baby Veronica

Agree completely that Ronnie Brown should remain with Dusten Brown, the man she currently calls "daddy". But this has to be heartbreaking to the man that was daddy for the first 18 months. My grandparents had raised a baby girl from being only a few weeks old until that little girl turned almost 4. It was a cousin of the family that had asked them, after the mom had post partum disorder and put the baby girl in the snowbank. This was in the late 1960's. They never formalized any adoption nor made any agreement. The little girl was just left at my grandparents to be raised. When she was around 4, the parents came back to get here. I was not born yet but I have been told the story many times of how my grandfather stood there in the driveway after they pulled away and cried his heart out. To the day that he died at 89 years old, he could never discuss that subject without tears and the family tried not to bring it up. The little girl is now a mid-40's adult with grandchildren. She still remembers the time that she spent with my grandparents. She never forgot.
