Perhaps the most important lesson history has taught is that it repeats itself. It happens daily in Charleston, where people who aren't from here condescendingly inform locals about things that are obvious, if not already common knowledge.

Charleston floods in places because of infilled land? Who knew!?
Bodies of water used to ebb and flow on Water Street?! Smack my ass and call me Sally!

Perhaps oysters will once again be harvested in low spots (expect an update to the PSC's 7 to Save List) but it will be after Mr. Thompson grows tired of his own voice, which I don't expect will happen anytime soon.
