Re: “Should the Dewberry's rooftop bar have been allowed to open?

"And although a few neighbors may have won in this instance, it's the rest of us that have certainly lost out on something wonderful."

Awesome.

Okay, now I'm totally convinced that Dwayne Green is a program created by the Chamber of Commerce to automatically respond to any zoning issue with 950 words of inane talking points.

If the Beach Company proposed a Golden Nugget Casino on Magnolia Cemetery, the DwayneBot would respond in the City Paper with an article recycling his due process arguments and lamenting the cultural and aesthetic loss of a national treasure.

Re: “Both sides await judge’s ruling on lawsuit challenging Charleston’s tour guide laws

Joseph P. Riley Jr. stated, People come here and they get ripped off or someone says, Well, Ill give you a tour, and they dont have the basic knowledge and give you a bunch of bum information that they eventually find that was bogus ..."

Pfffft. People come to Charleston and eat terrible food everyday and Joe isn't worried about the city's culinary reputation. Let the free market decide what tours sink or swim.

Besides, that test is an embarrassment. There is virtually no history about Africans or African Americans - you know, the people that constituted the majority population into the 20th century. The test is a reflection of what the old ladies in the preservation society value: the homes and gardens of rich people.

Then there's Ghost Tours. How in the wide, wide world of sports are you testing for the supernatural?

Here's an idea, Charleston: Come clean up the mess those horse carriages leave behind on my street and stop worrying about testing people on boxwoods and Adams architecture.

Re: “For Sgt. Jasper opponents it's time to face the truth — the fight is over

Well, when has Dwayne ever been wrong?

"Why Leon Stavrinakis Will Be The Next Mayor of Charleston." -

"But Deerin and Tecklenburg's advantage in resources will instead make it a three-person race between them and Stavrinakis. Of those three, the political experience of Stavrinakis will ensure his ultimate victory."

Re: “After passing 20-week abortion ban, S.C. lawmakers consider requiring fetal burial and cremation

The ACA is done in the private insurance market. Sex changes are not paid for by the government. Government funding for abortions is explicitly, statutorily illegal and has been for decades. So, yeah.

Re: “The Beach Co. wins the Sgt. Jasper battle, but the war is far from over

Oh look, Dwayne's back carrying water for the Beach Company. I hope that turns out the same as Leon's campaign. Yes, the guy Dwayne guaranteed would be our next mayor.
