Re: “Is Charleston becoming an economic powerhouse?

Damn post got jacked up. Anyways, the stadium gets somewhere around 25mil in tax payer $. With a very small benefit to the tax payers, which is only noteriety for NFL Stadium. It does not help econ growth. Let's not forget the crash of the banks. That wasn't caused by low taxes. Ten the city blew a big ass wad of money on the light rail. Damn thing has trains but not enough track and no more money. Let's also add that the the State of NC owes the fed $billion. The city also wastes TONS of cash on welfare programs that don't uplift but encourage sloth. The mayor is ignorant. 32000 less than 2008 levels. That's a decrease of 32000 jobs over a 4 year period. There is no net gain in jobs, there is no boom. Some places are coming right across the line in fort mll sc. Ballantyne area is one a
main hub of economic activity, they want to be annexed because the grabbers in the city want piece of that action. When she speaks about Charlotte she's dead on. And the longer she stays in your town, the more you know about your town.

Re: “Is Charleston becoming an economic powerhouse?

I'll tell you what you do. Move to Charlotte and live here for 3years. Pay attention to what goes on and has gone on. Compare it to charleston. The light rail is a cluster farce. They approvide city taxpayer $ to help with rennovation on BOA Stadium which is privately owned organization. Charlotte is screwed up.
